Richard “Rick” Leonard Wormer Sr., age 70, went to his eternal resting place on July 31st 2018 at 9:45 p.m due to an extended illness. Richard was born September 11th 1947 in Muncie, Indiana to Walter and Mettie (Boyer) Wormer who proceeded him in death.

Rick attended Muncie Central Schools. He worked at Broderick and Indiana Glass for 15+ years until they closed. Rick loved hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and scratching lottery tickets. He enjoyed watching old western movies and the Indiana University basketball games.

He leaves behind his children, Tina M. Sheets (Fiancé Scott Baker), Richard L. Wormer Jr., Ryan P. Wormer-Cragun and Waylen L. Wormer (Fiancé Linzi Hundley). His step-children Gary Tungate, Autumn Kahn, Victor Benson, and Will Benson. His grandchildren, Brandon Cox (Wife Kimiko), Brooke Curtis, Johnny Sheets II. Raven, Payton, and Reagen Wormer, Nevaeh and Gabe Rutledge (Wormer) and Kane and Kambri Wormer. His great grandchildren Eva, Addisyn, Charlotte, and Lennon Cox. His siblings, Joyce (Jerry) Condon and Ralph (Bev) Wormer. Special people, Tony Angel, Rick Bailey, Rick Wooten, and Sam.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, daughter Regina Wormer, step-daughter Candy Catena Coates, mother of 3 of his children Gladys Coats, cousin Johnny Justice and good friend Jimmy Wise.

Rick Wormer was the best father and grandfather that anyone could ask for. He was as strong as an ox and as stubborn as a bull but he was always there when he was needed. Rick always had people laughing with his pranks and jokes. He will forever hold a place in all of our hearts and he will be greatly missed.

Rick did not want services, he wanted people to remember him as he was, when he was well. A celebration of life is planned at a later date. Memorial contributions can be sent to Riley Children’s Hospital as Rick deeply loved his children and grandchildren.
